The Radio Excellence Awards Council ("the Council") is an independent governance and advisory body established to provide strategic oversight, uphold integrity, and ensure credibility in the administration of the Radio Excellence Awards. Its purpose is to safeguard the vision, values, and objectives of the Radio Excellence Awards by ensuring transparency, fairness, professionalism, and industry relevance in all award-related processes.

Objectives

The Council:

• • Promotes excellence, innovation, and professionalism in radio broadcasting
• • Ensures the credibility and integrity of the awards process
• • Provides strategic guidance on policy, governance, and long-term sustainability
• • Enhances industry confidence and stakeholder trust in the Awards

Composition

The Council consists of respected individuals drawn from media, academia, communications, creative industries, and related sectors. Members are appointed based on experience, integrity, and contribution to the industry.

Roles and Responsibilities

Council members:

• • Provide strategic oversight and policy direction for the Awards
• • Approve award categories, eligibility criteria, and judging frameworks
• • Oversee the independence and credibility of the judging process
• • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and governance principles
• • Act as ambassadors of the Radio Excellence Awards
• • Offer advisory support to the Secretariat and Management where required
